Advanced Medical Training and Education Center (AMTEC) Camp Letterman at the Wolf Farm site will form partnerships with healthcare professionals, local universities, other related companies and corporate sponsors. The goal is to build and promote a successful international education and research center serving all levels of medical education and research via continual improvement of standards of
operational and clinical practice through research, education, and the application of advanced technologies. This innovative teaching location will be focused on the many medical advances since the Civil War and utilized at the Camp Letterman location serving both Federal and Confederate soldiers.AMTEC will collaborate with over 200 healthcare professionals within the Gettysburg area, educational and corporate strategic alliances to become the preeminent medical education and research center in the region. AMTEC will be known for its excellent education, innovative research, state-of-the-art teaching facilities, outstanding clinical programs, and dedication to community service. AMTEC will be known as the place where healthcare professionals, leaders, historians, reenactors, etc. want to come to learn, teach, and conduct research.
AMTEC with the aid of various public, private, corporate, and organizational strategic alliances will be a state-of-the-art world-class Learning Center of Excellence while working under a 501C organization non-for-profit. The primary enabler for this capability will be the use of advanced information and learning technologies such as e-learning, simulation, virtual reality combined with both haptic and robotics. AMTEC will offer recognized continuing medical education requirements through on-site online internet access.
AMTEC will have its own building, in beautiful Gettysburg, PA on the Wolf Farm, a historic Civil War Field Hospital at Camp Letterman. Located in the over 100 acres historically period-correct complex, our facilities will be just a short drive away from the world-famous National Park & Visitors Center. The impressive learning and research capabilities of AMTEC combined with state of the art classrooms and a custom-designed amphitheater will provide synergistic educational opportunities for the healthcare professional, leaders and a great vacation opportunity for the family. Various companies and organizations will supply AMTEC with equipment, supplies, materials, video conferencing and many other products to support this collaborative business venture. This commitment will allow AMTEC to meet its clients' needs quicker and more efficiently as a world-class center of excellence in medical education and research.
Utilization of the AMTEC amphitheater, classrooms, and facilities will provide physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered and practical nurses, nursing aides, and ancillary healthcare groups such as surgical, radiological, and laboratory technicians; respiratory, physical, occupational, and rehabilitation therapists; firefighters, paramedics, EMT’s, administrators, medical historians and others with their continuing educational needs. Our programs will provide training for disaster relief personnel, ESDA & Homeland Security for firefighters, paramedics, law enforcement and others. The Camp Letterman Park and facilities will also be designated as a strategically located community disaster relief center. Some of the grounds will be period-specific and mix well with ultra-modern technology to provide a true capturing of innovation since 1863. The classrooms, amphitheater and café will also be made available to local groups such as community organizations, civic groups, chambers of commerce, Boy and Girl Scouts, etc.
AMTEC will become the local, state, national and international facility to promote various medical and non-medical seminars, conferences, and meetings. This is one of the fastest-growing areas in our economy.
The collaboration between AMTEC and corporate and organizational members will increase the market share and venues of all participants worldwide while enhancing their reputations as leaders in the healthcare education and research field.
